CFP, B.Com FP&I - Financial Adviser
Industry Background
James has more than 12 years experience working in various roles within the Banking and Finance sector and has been directly working within the Financial Planning Industry since 2004. James decided to leave the corporate financial planning world to pursue a role which would allow him to provide a more personalised service and a holistic approach to financial planning. An unconflicted advice model, and removal of commissions, were major reasons for joining Tupicoffs in 2006. James is well regarded for his uncompromising “client first” approach and has been a guest presenter for the Griffith University Professional Degree in Financial Planning.
Advice Philosophy
As a professional financial adviser, James believes that a successful relationship with his clients can be measured by the meaningful positive differences he makes to their lives. James believes that astute financial management, and planning for the future, are essential to achieving financial independence. However equally as important, is the need to identify lifestyle goals and plan for the present, to ensure that life is balanced and enjoyed along the way. James takes a pragmatic approach to risk management and believes that taking sensible, measured risks to achieve goals is far more important than targeting returns.
Qualifications
James holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce (Accounting) with a Financial Planning and Investments specialisation, and is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia. James currently provides advice to a diverse range of clients requiring assistance in areas such as wealth creation, tax minimisation, pre-retirement and retirement planning, estate planning and risk protection.
James currently provides advice to individuals as well as small business owners, and is qualified to provide advice in relation to complex areas of financial planning such as self managed superannuation and effective taxation structures (sole traders, partnerships, companies and trusts).
